I like the emphasis on incentives. However, the price mechanism is a major means of incentivising and although mentioned in relation to car parking, why not be bolder. Price entry to the wood/SSSI: the National Trust could do this and gain revenues. And then remove imposts on housing development.

As an aside, from my experience the NT seems keen to urbanise countryside parks with is footpath construction and proliferation of signage.

Perish the thought in a nation of dog lovers but a dog tax to cover their negative externalities?
